Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth, died today at 99 years old. The royal consort’s loss of life was introduced by Buckingham Palace.
“It’s with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has introduced the loss of life of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh,” the palace posted on Twitter. “His Royal Highness handed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Fortress.”
In a press release, Prime Minister Boris Johnson praised Philip’s experience as a carriage driver.
