Netflix's 'The Prom' gets glittering, star-studded trailer with big musical numbers

Ryan Murphy’s star-studded upcoming love letter to musicals for Netflix, The Promenade, has dropped its first official trailer, following a pleasant teaser released in October.

An adaptation of the Tony-nominated 2018 Broadway musical, The Promenade sees Meryl Streep as Dee Dee Allen and James Corden as Barry Glickman, two New York stage stars whose newest Broadway present tanks. In the meantime, Indiana highschool scholar Emma Nolan (Jo Ellen Pellman) has been banned from attending promenade along with her girlfriend Alyssa (Ariana DeBose) — regardless of help from her principal (Keegan-Michael Key) and the PTA head (Kerry Washington).

When the ban hits social media, Dee Dee and Barry view Emma’s state of affairs as an enormous PR alternative, and so they spherical up their actor mates Angie (Nicole Kidman) and Trent (Andrew Rannells) to grab on it. It backfires (shocker!) however there is perhaps a way these celebrities could make it as much as Emma.

If this trailer’s something to go by, anticipate some gloriously giant, opulent musical numbers.

The Promenade Dec. 11.
