Of all of the Chuck Wagon pet food commercials, this one from 1976 is my favourite. It begins with a canine peacefully resting on a front room rug. Instantly a tiny horse-drawn coated wagon prices out of the tv set and heads straight for the eating room desk, skidding throughout the slippery wood ground, bumping into chair legs. The driving force’s raucous hooting attracts consideration and the excited canine provides chase because the wagon makes a circuit of the room and heads again into the tv set, leaving the canine confused and despondent. The particular results are wonderful for the period, however the plot raises the query – what goal did the wagon driver have in taking a visit across the room apart from to torment the poor canine?
