Cook, Serve, Delicious! Review

Cook Serve Delicious is a restaurant simulator where you must handle orders, create the orders, and serve them to customers, while at the same time handling chores and two rush hours each day. The game features multiple varieties of foods including Mexican, American, Asian, and Italian. Each food requires its own prep and creation, with "recipe cards" that add new varieties for each upgrade. The goal of the game is to become a 5 star restaurant and make it the best!

Each order you receive requires its own prep work and some are unique, requiring different cook times. For instance, for french fries you will need to keep the fryer basket held down until smoke pops up, then place it into the plate and give salt or other ingredients if needed. Before purchasing brand new foods you will be allowed to try them out first, giving you an idea of how its created and prepped. You can also set the key bindings to the prep keys before a day has begun, giving you better control over each food to your liking.

Depending on how well you made the food, you will receive either perfect, average, or bad performance. Each perfect performance will add to your perfect combo, and if you complete the day without a single average or bad performance mark, you will receive a money bonus. Also sometimes you will receive bets in the mail requiring you to reach a certain perfection combo with certain foods, which will keep you on your toes.

As you advance in Cook Serve Delicious, you will gain access to powerful upgrades that will make the game a bit easier for you. You can purchase, for instance, better dish washers, garbage disposal, security upgrade, and much more. You can even get upgrades like a "Daily Special", make customers more patient, and much more! These are optional upgrades, but can make the game much easier for you, by halving chore times, and keeping your customers more patient, or even those health inspectors off your back for a little longer!

In these catering challenges you will be tasked with a specific theme of foods to create, and be tasked with completing so many orders perfectly within the time limit. You will receive a bonus for each additional item created in excess of the time limit. Catering challenges are required to advance to further restaurant stars, and will net you a nice bonus for completing each. You will need the foods unlocked before you can take on these challenges.

The Iron Cook challenge is a feature that occurs after reaching a certain star level in Cook Serve Delicious. In these challenges you will have 5 waves to complete in a specific theme. The patience meter is much lower and the foods are upgraded as the challenge progresses. You are only allowed 2 bad orders and any more will have you disqualified. Completion of these challenges are required to advance to higher restaurant stars, and you will receive a nice money bonus for completion of each one.

Cook4Luv is a dating serving in Cook Serve Delicious where you can date men or women in your restaurant. If you choose to go on a date, they will appear in your restaurant the next day and have a favorite food. You will need to have the food on the menu the day they show up, otherwise they will not show up and date you. Completing your multiple dates with them will give you more tickets for use in random bets and so forth.

Overall the game is pretty good. If you are a fan of time-management games in the sense of Diner Dash and their ilk, then you will find this game interesting and has a decent amount of time involved in it. A good bit of play value, lots of upgrades, and challenges will keep you playing the game for a good while, and I recommend it!
